Cleaning Mold and How to Prevent It

Are you struggling with mold in your home? Mold spores can appear and grow anywhere in your house where there’s moisture, and if they are left untreated, they can cause several health problems, so it is important to keep your space clean.

If you already have mold growing in your home, you can solve the problem in a few ways. First, you could spray a mold and mildew remover product on the affected spots and scrub the stains after a few minutes, then rinse with hot water. Make sure to dry the area to let any moisture escape.

Another method you could try is a water and bleach solution. Start by using a mix of water and dish detergent and apply it to the area, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Continue by mixing a gallon of warm water with three quarters of a cup of chlorine bleach. Add this to the section, then let it sit for five minutes before scrubbing it. Wash this solution off before drying the area.

You might also consider getting a professional company to get rid of mold. This way, you can be sure that it is cleaned to a high standard where it is unlikely to come back.

Preventing mold, on the other hand, is a lot more straightforward. Mold appears due to condensation and an excess of moisture in the home, so a way to prevent mold is to make sure the place is well ventilated and heated properly. Another reason for mold could be the structure of the house itself.

While this issue is only noticeable once the mold has completely set in, you can still avoid getting mold by having your home inspected on a regular basis. This way, you can deal with the issue before it evolves into a much more complicated problem. Finally, you may consider using mold resistant products, especially during home renovations. Items such as mold resistant insulation and even specific paints can help inhibit mold and prevent it from growing.
